Thanksgiving on Sunday!

Oldest male, Uncle James (center, Janice's Daddy)), Uncle Waymon on the left and Anna's husband David on the right. Anna and David are in Atlanta now, close to their daughter Corby. Anna's mother, my aunt Lucille, lives with them and has not been down for a visit in a few years so we were totally happy to get together with them this beautiful Sunday afternoon.

We are grateful for this HUGE Thanksgiving over a four day period!

Thanksgiving with Sky!

What a GREAT day I had with Sky!
We had original intentions for the day that kept changing due to factors beyond our control (Like a young church member that lost his life in service to our country) SOOOooo... what we DID do was go shopping for funeral potato ingredients, came home and baked, took off just in the nic of time to make the new Harry Potter Movie, saw the motorcycle funeral escort complete with flags... about 50 total.. then rushed to the church to help set up to feed the family members after the funeral.

We had to wait at least 10 minutes before the theatre opened their doors, so in keeping with our desire to have FUN, we ran down to Hallmark and picked out (ON SALE) Vera Bradley bags.
Sky picked first and went straight to the black patterned.... which she held in one had while she searched the rest of the bin of bags.
To my great delight, her final selection was the one you see her holding here, and I snatched up her first choice as it was my only choice! (I didn't tell her that until she tossed it back in the bin)

After we delivered our funeral potatos, we took off to the Billiard Academy and ordered 15 world famous *Pool Room Hot Dogs*, took them to Mamoo's and served with our second batch of funeral potatos (I just got the recipe from Utah ;), watched a movie and visited a while.

Sky is a great cook, we got the job done and still had time for the rest of the days activities. On the way home, we passed a huge Christmas Light show... so we took that in too!!
GREAT DAY!!

Old South Day 2010

Our current senior missionaries !

I say *current* because we have been through a few sets now, and all are just awesome!

The Warren's enjoyed this day trip to the little town of Ochlocknee Georgia, where they still have a cane grinding mill to make good ole Georgia Cane Syrup! The most significant change this year was that they are actually using gas engines to power the cane squeezers, instead of mule power. Once the juice is squeezed out of the sugar cane it is boiled down in huge cast iron pots to the syrup stage, then bottled. It was delicious!

Also there were many arts and crafts vendors and a parade, but I think we all enjoyed the cotton around the old house better than we could have the inflatable jumping houses.
